Within the congregation
One of our priorities is to provide a welcoming "home" for people from around the world who find themselves in Paris for whatever reason and whatever length of time. An essential aspect of our mission is to care for newcomers to a bustling city where it is easy to feel lost and insignificant and we hope that those who are far from their loved ones consider us as their family. Our mission as a congregation is also to care for and encourage each other, strengthening our community of faith and equipping us to go out into our places of work, our neighborhoods, etc. to bear witness to the love of Christ through our everyday behavior and actions.

In Paris
The Scots Kirk Paris supports the Missionnaires de la Charité who work with homeless men in the city. While most of us are not actually physically involved, we provide a regular supply of food, toiletries and clothing, all of which are very much appreciated. We also bring wrapped gifts to our Christmas service and these are distributed in time for Christmas Day.
All contributions are welcome and can be put in the basket at the entrance to the sanctuary on Sunday mornings.
Bags of Hope is our special mission project for 2022. It is designed to provide the men with small items that might brighten up their everyday lives throughout the year. Brown bags are available in the church and we ask that you
take one away with you, fill it with 7 items (one for every day of the week) and bring it back to church the following Sunday or whenever you can. And of course no-one is limited to just one bag!
Our aim is to have filled 100 bags by the end of the year! Help us to meet our target!

In the wider world
The Scots Kirk Paris is part of the International Presbytery. Every year, the Presbytery decides on a new mission project and we, like all churches in the International Presbytery, contribute financially to these through fundraisers. Past projects include the Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza, "A Place at the Table" (to help Syrian refugees to feed their families), "Word made Flesh" (for Romanian orphans), refurbishment of the washing facilities in Ward 8 of Mulleryiawa Hospital in Colombo, Sri Lanka and a Reconciliation project in Rwanda. Visit the International Presbytery website for more information.
